This page contains auditions posted on Monday, April 18, 2011.
We have spent some time focusing on finding auditions, audition preparation, and booking the right type of work. No matter how talented and gorgeous you may be, it always comes down to who you know, or rather, who knows you.
The big question of this week is - how does networking play a role in your acting career?
How important is it to make an appearance at local film networking events, and how much does it make a difference in your career? Do you attend any local networking events for theater and film? How has it affected the work you are getting, and how have you grown from networking?
Let's start up this week's chat and discuss your thoughts about networking, attending events, and how this has made a difference in your acting career!
If you are a fan of the blog, please share this with actor friends. If you have any feedback for me on how to improve my blog, share this with me so that I may work on improving the blog.
Thanks.

Auditions for 100% OFF: A Recession-Era Romance
NAME OF PROJECT/AUDITION:
100% OFF: A Recession-Era Romance
COMPANY / SCHOOL / AGENCY:
47th Parallel Films
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
"100% OFF: A Recession-Era Romance" is my third feature, and first narrative effort. To be shot and set completely in Seattle, the film is a raw and reflective docu-drama about 2 couples struggling to come of age with the onset of the 2008 financial crisis. As my first two films were documentaries aimed primarily at building a local resume and making local connections, I intend "100% OFF" to be a break into a larger market via the national film festival circuit that other local filmmakers have used as an effective springboard to greater exposure. In spite of--or rather because of these aspirations, tapping into Seattle's strong reservoir of talent is a must.
While the major leading roles of "100% OFF" have been cast, many crucial and still-prominent parts still remain for talent with considerable character and screen presence. Our cast and crew is to this point primarily non-union, and compensation will be determined on or before June 1st at the close of our first fundraising surge. Shooting for "100% OFF" begins June 17th and proceeds thru July 18th; a more precise shooting schedule will be in place by April 30th. Not every role is a speaking one, but each is integral. We encourage young actors in particular to contact us, as exposing other young people to the first-hand ins and outs of the filmmaking process is a aim of ours. Interested talent should respond ASAP, before roles fill-up. Headshots, or photos of any sort, as well as resumes are a must. Write, schedule an audition, and dare to dream.
Looking Forward to Hearing from You, and Thanks in Advance.
Director,
Shaun Scott.
