SecondStory Repertory: A Year with Frog and Toad
SecondStory Repertory would like to invite you to audition for our May 2011 Children’s Theater production of A Year with Frog and Toad.
Audition Date: Saturday February 12, 2011 from 12p-3p
Callback Date: Saturday February 26, 2011 from 12p-3p
Audition Requirements:
Please come with headshot, resume, 16 bars of a song that shows your vocal range and a short monologue.
Character Breakdown/Project Needs
Frog: The steady friend, always ready to lend a hand and have a bit of fun.
Toad: The emotional, flighty one who depends on Frog to smooth out the rough bits.
Ensemble (3-4): High energy, multiple animal roles including: birds, moles, snails, lizards, and frogs. Lot's of singing and movement.
The show runs May 6-22, 2011. Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm and 4pm. We will have school shows the week of May 16, 2011; shows are at 9:30am and 11:30am. The specific days and times of the school shows will be determined two weeks prior to opening due to schools booking through mid-April. Rehearsal schedule will be Sundays-Thursdays, 7p-9:30p starting on April 3, 2011. Tech week for this production is May 1-5, these rehearsals will be 7p-10p.

SecondStory pays a stipend to defray the cost of participation in the production.

Based on the true story of a mysterious Hollywood death, The Cat's Meow offers a fascinating cross section of Jazz Era characters who intersect for one notorious weekend on board William Randolph Hearst's yacht.

Elinor Glyn- 60, British romance novelist, screenwriter and social dictator
Thomas Ince- 40's, a silent film pioneer and studio mogul
Margaret Livingston- 20's, an actress and mistress to Ince
George Thomas- Ince's business manager
Marion Davies, 27 (but passing for 25) a movie star and Hearst's public mistress
Charlie Chaplin- 35, British, an internationally know movie star
Louella Parsons- 40's a Hearst movie reviewer from the East Coast
William Randolph Hearst- 62, Newspaper and silver mining magnate. A large, wealthy, powerful married man
Joseph Willicombe- Hearst's loyal and discreet personal secretary
Dr. Daniel Goodman- 40's, former physician, now a Hearst movie studio executive
Mrs. Goodman- 30's, The Dr.'s conservative wife
Celia Moore- 20's, a flapper/actress
Didi Dawson- 20's, also a flapper/actress
Mrs. Ince (Voice on the phone) 40's, Ince's recently awoken wife, who remained at home
CALLBACKS

COMPENSATION
Redwood Theatre is a fully volunteer-run organization. There is one "Cast and Crew Benefit Night" the proceeds of which are shared evenly amongst the cast and crew. (This typically amounts to around $50.)
REHEARSALS
Beginning on February 20, 2011, Sundays 7p-10p, Wednesdays and Thursdays 6p-10p. Tech week is April 29, 2011.

SecondStory still seeking 'Mitch' in upcoming Spelling Bee
SecondStory Repertory is currently casting for the role of Mitch in our April production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, directed by David Hunter Koch with music direction by Cathy Bleeker.
The show runs April 1-30, 2010. Fridays and Saturdays at 8p, and 3 Sunday matinees on April 10, 17 and 24 at 2p. Rehearsal schedule is Sunday-Thursday 7p-10p. We will start rehearsals February 27, 2010. There is a possibility of late night shows being added to the run.
Audition/Interview Dates:
Saturday February 12, 2011 from 3:30pm-5:30pm
Audition Requirements:
Please come in with a short, comic monologue and 16 bars of a song that shows your vocal range, you may also be asked to improvise. Please be prepared to do cold reading and singing.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
Mitch Mahoney: The Official Comfort Counselor. An intimidating-looking ex-convict, Mitch is performing his community service with the Bee, and hands out juice boxes and hugs to losing students. This role needs to have a strong tenor voice and be comfortable with modern broadway style.
