Auditioning little girl (age 4-8) for PAID short film (Seattle)
The role calls for a Caucasian little girl between age 4-8. There are only three short lines of dialog, but she must be able to convey sleepiness. No experience is necessary, but it is preferred.
This is a paid role and will span two day (not full days). $50 for costume fitting and rehearsal day, and $150 for the day we shoot. Because it is a paid role with an experienced and professional cast and crew, be sure that your little one can entertain herself quietly without disrupting the shoot until it's her time in front of the camera.
Our short film, Novos, will be shooting around August 24-26th. Please only respond if you'll be available during those dates.
Auditioning will take place right away, and by appointment. Callbacks will be on the 8th or 9th of next week with the writer/director of the film.
To audition: email me with your daughter's name, photograph (a snapshot is fine), and any previous work she's done. You'll be contacted to schedule an audition time if she matches the description in the script.
About the filmmaker: Writer and director Jonathan Brebner, graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, has been part of several award-winning film teams as producer, editor, cinematographer, and director. He recently founded the production company Hyperbole Entertainment to produce the major sci-fi short film Novos. His most recent short film "Unbound" is currently touring the festival circuit, where it won Best Local Shortest Film at the Columbia Gorge International Film Festival and screened at the Tacoma Film Festival, Dam Short Film Festival, and Indie Spirit Film Festival.

This is the story of one girl's journey as she loses her innocence, and nearly her life, chasing after a vision of love against her mother's wishes. After being seduced, she rides deeper and deeper into the dark woods searching for a mysterious stranger who possesses a cursed treasure. Will she survive?
This film has no dialogue and will be set to music (by Jimmy Van Galder), and sound designs (by Sam Nuttmann).

The current production for Iron Horse is going to be an extensive exploration into film making. To capture the shots, we've brought together an amazing team who'll be using RC helicopter camera rigs, zip-line camera rigs, underwater camera rigs, horse stunts, water stunts, period costumes, set design, props... the works. This isn't just any short film, the end result will be a breathtaking cinematic experience.

HOW TO SIGN UP/WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE AUDITION: (PLEASE READ!!!)
This is an open casting call so please arrive between 7-9pm. (We'll be ending the auditions at 10pm so it's not a good idea to show up late as you probably won't be seen). We ask that you please bring at least one headshot and resume with you. For the girls auditioning for Claire, and ladies auditioning for Lorraine, we ask that you please bring some sort of proof that you're comfortable riding a horse (please read descriptions below). Acceptable proof is photos of you riding, jumping, etc. Unfortunately (girls and ladies), if you cannot prove that you're 'very' comfortable riding a horse then we wont be able to audition you.
All actors: Please come with a prepared 2 minute monologue. We'll also be doing group readings with the actors so you may be asked to stick around in order to pair you with different people. Thank you in advance for your patience. We'll have sides available for you to read from and play with. The film itself has no dialogue, but in order to see how well actors play together, we'll have everyone read some lines together to help things along. And we're not looking for anyone to be off book with the sides, we just want you to play with the words as you go through the scenes. So come as open and as playful as possible!!! This is going to be a fun night!!!
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
LORRAINE
Female (age 30 to 40) - Claire's mother - must be a well experienced horse rider comfortable riding in tight woodsy areas. Should have classic looks, "elfish / nymph" features are a plus, fair skin is preferable. Please bring proof of riding experience (photos you riding, jumping, etc are acceptable and preferable)
CLAIRE
Female (age 12 to 16) - Lorraine's daughter - must be a well experienced horse rider comfortable riding in tight woodsy areas. Must also be an excellent swimmer not afraid of swimming in fast moving, cold water. Safety staff and equipment will be present for water stunt, but actress must be comfortable in this environment. Should have classic looks, "elfish / nymph" features are a plus, fair skin is preferable. Please bring proof of riding experience (photos of you riding, jumping, etc are acceptable and preferable).
JACK
Male (age 30 to 50) - Weathered, "rugged mountain man" look preferred. Jack is a drifter, old school goods trader. Unkempt, dirty, and somewhat exotic looking. It must be believable that Jack has traveled the world, seen many great things, knows mysteries of the earth that few others may know.
JAMES
Male (age 12 to 16) - Age must be close to Claire's, as they must be believable as a young couple. JAMES should be a confident, classic looking young man.
COMPENSATION:

Short Synopsis: Maisie is a young woman who is struggling with the loss of
her younger brother in the Vietnam War. She has trouble coping with the

Door" chronicles the misadventures of Ham, a door-to-door con artist, and
Joseph, a door-to-door missionary, as they attempt to persuade a skeptical
world to buy—or buy into—their wares. When Joseph ends up at Ham’s front
door evangelizing to his girlfriend Dee, Ham is appalled by Joseph’s lack of
sales finesse. Ham challenges Joseph to find out which one of them can "sell
more Jesus." As the contest progresses, Joseph learns a thing or two about
how to make the sale—and how to get the girl.

*HAM: Late 20s – early 30s. A con artist. As soon as a door swings open, he
can size up his mark and say exactly what needs to be said to get a buck.
Ham is charming and cocky. A street-smart alpha-male. [Some sexual

JOSEPH: Early 20s. A sincere missionary. He’s not a zealot, just someone who
believes in God and thinks other people would be better off if they did too.
He’s a bit meek and not all too worldly. [Must ride a bike.]
DEE: 20s – early 30s. Ham’s girlfriend. She’s sexy and strong. She’s smart,
too, but has somehow found herself in a relationship with a cheating dude
who doesn’t treat her all that well.
NELL: A sweet, older woman who is happy to give money for the right cause.
CARL: A blue collar dude. He works nights in the factory and doesn’t want
some jerk coming around to his door and waking him up.
SYLVIA: 40s. Sylvia is wealthy and considers herself something of an
artiste. She takes a more than artistic interest in Ham. [Some sexual
physicality required.]
PHIL: A depressed businessman who just lost his job. And his wife.
TONYA: A tired, lonely housewife.
BRITNEY: A cute coed home from college for the summer.
VARIOUS SOLICITEES: We will be casting several actors to improv door-to-door
interactions with Ham and Joseph.
