Casting and Crew for short film “The Day the Revolution Came to Town”

Log Line:

A drifter comes to town talking about revolution. People don’t take
him
seriously until he defends himself from business owners, cops and
thugs
trying to kick him out of town. The drifter plans on doing all he can
to
destroy hierarchy before he goes.

Shooting Schedule:

This short film will be shot in 3 days late spring in Olympia, WA

Compensation:

No compensation except for film credit and food on set.

Casting for the roles of:

Guy – (Lead Role) Action hero with hard stare and weathered face. Guy
declared war on hierarchy a long time ago. All he thinks about, talks
about and does is revolution. Guy is an insurrectionary anarchist who
travels from town to town sparking revolution. Guy may talk with an
accent
and the part requires some physical running, punching and kicking.

Person 1 and Person 2 – (Supporting roles) mid 20s homeless street
kids
who are alienated from the system and completely cynical. They are
best
friends.

Random Street Person – Mid thirties man casually dressed, asks Guy for
cigarette and ends up smoking pot with him. Laid back and easy going.

Young Woman – Dressed in business suit. A professional woman, stressed
from work and society, gives pocket change to Guy.

Old Woman –Late 60s and 70s An old radical who gave up the struggle 30
years ago. Old Woman becomes inspired to organize her neighbors.

Young Kid -- 8-12 Kid looks up to Guy and thinks he is a hero. The
Young
Kid gives food to Guy from the restaurant his Dad works at.

(3) Business Owners – 40s-60s Small business owners who take things
into
their own hands. They have a strong sense that their idea of morality
is
right. They want Guy to leave town.

(2) Police officers – 30s and 40’s big mustached men. These police
officers have contempt for homeless people and are prone to violence.
They
are used to pushing people around.

(5 or so) Fascists – 20s-30s muscular men with mean expressions. They
get
together to beat up Guy.

(20) Extras – People walking down the street.

Dog – mutt, a mixed stray dog. The dog must be able to sit and
retrieve
objects.

Audition Posting for Short Film

AUDITION NOTICE

Name of Project:
“TAKE 38” – low-budget short film.

Auditions by appointment only.
Initial Auditions will be held Saturday, April 2nd and Monday, April 4th 2011.

Production Dates:
May 6th, 7th and 8th 2011.

Producer:
Photo Finish Films, Inc.

Production Location:
Seattle, WA (Ballard)

Description:
An Italian Mafia film with a comedic twist.

Roles:
Five speaking roles. The film requires dramatic, comedic & physical ability.

Ira: man; early to mid-30’s; physically handsome; urban, from the streets. Up and comer in the crime family. At home with the street life.

Vincent: man; late 40’s to early 50’s; physically handsome, salt & pepper haired. New Jersey Mob Boss; head of the family. Tough, but intelligent. He demands respect and loathes disloyalty.

Lenny: man; middle-aged; Physically big. New Jersey Mob thug. Loyal, mean, not very bright. The kind of guy that does what he’s told, without question or hesitation. The muscle behind the man.

Marty: boy; teenager (13-16). Wise beyond his years. High energy. Slightly quirky, yet serious in his demeanor and language. Driven. Completely focused on what he wants.

Linda: woman; early 40’s. Physically beautiful, sexy, lean with curves. Strong identity with New Jersey lifestyle. Strong opinions and attitudes.

Compensation:
Unpaid. All actors will receive screen credit, a copy of the finished film, and meals during production.

Short Film Casting Call

The film, which has already begun shooting, requires the casting of 2, maybe 3 similar looking women. The female romantic lead appears in her 20's, her 30's and her 60's.

The 30's version must have straight, shoulder length, strawberry, or dirty blond hair.

Be between 5'7"-5'11" tall and around 145-150 lbs. (exceptions made if you fit the role in other ways).

Auditions will be held Saturday, March 12, at 2:00 P.M. at Sanford & Son Antiques (downstairs) in Tacoma.

Shooting begins Sat April 9th and every available weekend after that until we're done. We promise to feed you lunch that will make you happy you came.
