Let's continue the discussion for this week - balancing life with an acting career. For those of you who are making a career out of acting, it can be challenging to find time for a social life, family, and friends who are not a part of the acting world. For those of us who pursue acting as a hobby, it can be a challenge to balance a day job with auditions, rehearsing, and filming. Anyone involved with theater knows that rehearsals may be scheduled every weekday, which minimizes time spent with family and friends outside of acting. Those late night shoots happen when convenient for the filmmakers, and can interfere with local networking events.
Whether you are involved with theater or film, how do you balance your social life and sanity with acting work? Some meditate, others give themselves a day each week devoted to family. Let's hear what your tricks are. Please share your thoughts and feedback in the chat box below!

Need Lead Actor for Short Film
Seattle Film Institute students are looking for a male actor to play the
part of Jerry, in a short comedy film called "AT AUCTION".
Jerry is also in his 30's and heavy set, yet clean cut, and a little
uptight.
No monetary compensation. Food will be provided and actors will receive
credit and a copy of the finished work. Auditions will be held this Friday,
the 25th at 1:30 pm at Seattle Film Institute. 1709 23rd Ave, Seattle, next
to Safeway. A copy of script can be sent to serious inquiries. Please

"I Love Lucy" impersonators needed - April 30, 2011
Tropicana Club recreated for a local school auction
Come show your talent at a re-creation of the most popular nightclub in
television history! . the re-creation of Ricky Ricardo's famous nightclub
from "I Love Lucy".
Event Date: April 30, 2011
Event Time: 5pm-midnight
Location: St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church
Main Ballroom
2100 Boyer Avenue East
Seattle, WA 98112
Evening Description: Silent/Live Auction with Auctioneer. Facility will
be decorated in a Tropicana Club theme..red carpet, 9' palm trees, etc.
Primary focus is on raising money for Stevens Elementary School on Capitol
Hill. Auctioneer is in charge of keeping momentum of the evening. Actors
would be in charge of keeping things light and in the "spirit" of the
evening.
Needs: We are looking for two talented people to play the part of Lucille
Ball & Desi Arnaz, at minimum. (More cast of characters, the better).
Actors would be asked to roam the room inserting self into conversations,
creating "short" vignettes, as appropriate (keeping in character, at all
times). This is not meant to be THE entertainment, but moreover to
compliment the evening.
Compensation: Gratis (We would cover the costumes and be willing to draft
a glowing reference, for a job well done)

Actress needed for a demo video - $50 per hour (Seattle - Queen Anne)
