Auditions: Tuesday, April 05, 2011

This page contains auditions posted on Tuesday, April 05, 2011.

With a new week, comes an amazing new topic of discussion for our chat box.

This week, let's focus in on how to pick the right auditions. What do you look for when selecting work you are interested in auditioning for. Many in the industry are willing to work for free if it is for a friend, or for something that will be great material for our reel, but some people in our community feel they should get paid appropriately for their work.

Honestly, I am always thankful to even just get paid from a gig found outside of an agent, but we all see things differently. What do you focus in on when filtering auditions for work? Do you look for monetary compensation, and weigh out how much work for how much money? Do you ask yourself whether auditioning for the experience and networking would be great in itself? What questions do you ask yourself before submitting yourself for auditions?

I have also read in the chat box that some have experienced inappropriate behavior and actions at auditions. What do you look for in an audition notice to avoid running into a situation like this?

Let's chat throughout the week about what work needs to be done before we even submit ourselves for auditions. What have your experiences been like, and what questions do you always ask yourself?

If you are a fan of the blog, please share this with actor friends. If you have any feedback for me on how to improve my blog, share this with me so that I may work on improving the blog.

Thanks.

Crew Needed for 72 Hour Film Competition

I'm assembling crew for the crazy-exhilarating-madness of The Grand Cinema's 72 Hour Film Competition. If you haven't written, directed, produced, edited, scored and distributed a short film in less than half a week it is truly a must have experience!

While it is ideal that you come with your own equipment or software, I do have some connections at a public access station where we can get a sizeable amount of our equipment and edit suite needs met for free.

We are needing the following crew positions filled:

- all-around sound guru
- boom operator
- video editors
- camera operators
- lighting designer
- makeup/hair artist
- production designer or set dresser
- grips/gaffers
- production assistants

There is a small monetary award to the winner and a definite screening in May at The Grand.

We hope you can be a part of this amazing opportunity with us!

Reply to: Please send a resume and/or a letter detailing your experience and interest to acapere@leapsecondpictures.com and I'll tell you about our killer preliminary concept and plan.

lifestyle company, and are seeking a variety of individuals to partake
in the services and products offered by this company during a
commitment to an 8-week start up fitness program. Participants will

given some added bonus surprises!

In all, by participating in the program, individuals will receive a
bundle of products and services ranging in worth from about $650.00 to
