There are so many different techniques that actors can utilize to achieve a solid performance. Many local teachers focus on different styles, and some may work perfectly, while others just aren't for you. Whether it's Stanislavsky, Viewpoints, Meisner, or just being you, there is a reason so many people rely on these techniques when focusing on training and improving your acting abilities.
What are some of the techniques you have used in your training, and what have you actually applied when working on set? What works for you, and what doesn't? Sometimes, depending on the role, being a method actor is the best way for me to get a true, honest performance, while others may laugh at method actors and think it's unnecessary to go that far to get a good performance.
Whatever works for you is what you should stick with, but it's always interesting to learn about other actor's techniques, and what your process is to achieve that perfect, natural performance.
Share with us what your process is and what techniques work best for you. Which teachers have you been drawn to that have helped you get that solid performance. Do you use different techniques for different character types? Is your process for film the same as it would be when preparing to perform on stage?

seattle web series needs actors and extras (seattle & tacoma)
This is a zero budget web series, there is no pay. I need the following actors for speaking roles:

this is a very small role, one scene, couple of lines, shoot date June 12 late afternoon.

And I need extras for a swimming pool location shoot at the Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club:
teenagers between 12 and 18 to play swim team members. Must be in one piece swimsuits (girls) and speedos (boys) and be swimming in the pool for the scene.
Man or woman aged 25-55 to play the swim coach (non-speaking background role)
This scene will be shot on ONE of the following mornings in Tacoma: June 3, 5, 9 or 10th.

Outdoor shoots - male model - $30 per hour (Seattle)
Hi there,
I am looking for male models in the Seattle and Bellevue areas to do outdoor shoots with this summer to build my portfolio. I'm looking to do some location shoots out by Snoqualmie as well as some shots at the beach and on the lake/ski boat.
Also I am looking for anyone who knows how to skate as I would like to get some good action shots at a skate park.
Please send a couple pictures, pay is $30 per hour and you will get copies of all the photos. I ask that every model bring 3 or 4 outfits that they think they will look good in depending on the type of shoot and location.
