This year is flying by, and May has arrived! With the start of this new month, and the popularity picking up for film in the Pacific Northwest, it may be necessary to strengthen your marketing tools for better visibility to the LA Casting Directors and Talent Agencies.
As actors, we may sometimes be asked to pay for specific services that can be viewed as marketing tools, but do these really help us find work? Casting Frontier is a popularly used resource in the Portland area, and while the basic profile is free, the premium profile is a minimal charge of $10/month, but opens up some very valuable resources, including having a demo reel available for visitors. Another widely known resource is IMDB, which is $15.95/month for a professional profile, also allowing a bio, headshots, and a demo reel.
There are other free actor resources out there, including Actor Access, Actor Hub, Model Mayhem, but which are more beneficial to use, and at what stage is it necessary to pay for these resources to move your career forward? What are the online marketing tools you take advantage of, and are the free resources enough for your acting needs?

Models needed - all ages - for cycling photo shoot (Seattle)
TORKER & REDLINE Bicycles are looking for amateur models to use in our
2012 Catalogs. We are looking for experienced cyclists with a healthy,
athletic/fit physique and good looks. We need models of all ages
(including children), both male and female, with a variety of style and
ethnicity. Professional modeling experience is not required. Models will
be asked to ride a bicycle and will be required to sign a Photo Release
form and Liability waiver. Models should look comfortable and natural
riding a bicycle. Photo shoots will take place all over Seattle and the
Eastside, and will usually be done in the early mornings or evenings. A
photo shoot should take only approx 1 hour / 2 hours max.
REQUIREMENTS: We are looking for experienced bike riders who have a
healthy lifestyle look. We are not looking for Super Model looks, but we
do need models who look comfortable and natural riding a bicycle.
PHOTOSHOOT DETAILS: We will meet the model at a location near them or at
an agreed-upon location (such as Greenlake, Alki Beach, Seattle or
Kirkland waterfront, Burke Gilman trail, etc).
CLOTHING: Models will supply their own clothing, outfit and props. We
will provide bicycle helmets, and riders will be required to wear a
helmet during the shoot.
PAYMENT: Torker/Redline Bicycles will offer $50 [retail cost] in XLC
bike parts or accessories to every model.

Actors needed tv series project (North seattle)
Shannon Heights Television Inc is looking for two Asian female actresses for our new upcoming soap opera style television series. One role is Britta a twenty something who works at the shoe store in the mall and has a unemployed boyfriend and the other role is her sister Stephanie who attends high school and is now working in the mall at a higher end clothing store. Please submit a head shot and resume. These shoots are going to be later this month and in June. We are shooting promotional scenes and pilot scenes to establish sponsorships and financing to bring regular episodes to tv screens that we plan to began regular production later this year. Male Actor for Commercial (Seattle)
I am looking for a young (18-26) year old male to play the role of a seamstress.
dark hair, and stubbled facial hair. Im looking for a clean-dirty look.
also looking for two male cops description doesn't matter to me. just be ready to play and look like a cop.
I am a student in my final 4 weeks of film school and i need something that will be visually and cinematically stunning to look at.
I have chosen to do a 30 sec commercial for the marc ecko cut & sew brand. This brand is a very casual/sophisticated mature look for young men.
They often promote themselves in magazines as a glamourous antique styled company, very well made and affordable. They often use beautiful woman
to highlight the product and to show sex appeal.
my concept is to have a "Seamstress" in a darkly like warehouse sewing together a masterpiece. police come in to look for this guy. when the find him we finally see that he has sewn together
the perfect woman as he steps back and the light shines in on her. I want the to have a very cinematic feel, and capture the attention of most. This commercial is made to
metaphorically show that marc ecko is "sewn to perfection" which is the slogan implied in the commercial.
as a film student i dont have much to offer other than a DVD, a good time, gas money, and food. If payment is required i will be more than willing to work something out with you for your time.

Short film 'The MarQueen' Casting- With Synopsis (Seattle)
Casting auditions are being held at the Cinerama theater in Belltown. At this point we have openings only on May 15th, from 9am-11:30am.
The 30 minute short film, */The MarQueen/*, is now casting for principle
roles. These roles will be paid positions. Production will take place
in Seattle (mostly Queen Anne).
*SYNOPSIS:*
_SHORT:_
The coincidence of a new girl and a pending audit at a
hotel/brothel threatens the foundations of the business
and the family that runs it.
_LONG:_
At the MarQueen, a man can get a clean bed, a complimentary
breakfast, premium cable channels and a hell
of a lay. Doubling as a brothel that specializes in fetishes,
this family business is headed by Vera, a matriarch
whose wit sharpens as the weight of the years bears down. No
longer a spring chicken, she has of late become
self-conscious of the two things that matter most to her: her
reign and her appeal. After her son fails to save
one of the girls from an overzealous client, a new girl is
recruited, whose crush on her son Curtis is seen as a
threat to Vera's dynastic mind. To make matters worse, the
family's accountant has caught wind of an approaching
audit of the hotel, and the once solid castle has begun to show
its cracks. These cracks, however, appear to
Curtis as green shoots. After all, his dad Henry the
maintenance guy is obsessed with the idea of him and Vera
retiring to his wife's homeland, Greece, leaving the kingdom to
their son and heir, an option Vera refuses to
consider. With the sudden arrival of Psydney, his future
queen, Curtis' usual ambivalence is transformed into
an unfamiliar sense of purpose as he for the first time
contemplates his impending reign, much to the distress of
Vera. As her grip on the business and herself loosens, Vera's
despair leads to a rash decision that sets in motion
events that will make her rethink the idea of retiring.
Based loosely on the Cupid and Psyche myth, /The Marqueen/ is a
linear narrative set over the course of a couple
of days, and explores how the perceptions of ourselves and
other can lead to outcomes as horrendous as they are
inevitable.

brooding; able to purvey
subtle emotional context.
/HENRY/ --------------- 50s or 60s; amiable, but with a screw loose;
meager to average build.
Sharp features, similar to
actor Dick Miller. Rambling mind and mouth,
may or may not be physically
crippled in some way.
/PSYDNEY/ ----------- Early to late 20s; the newest addition to the
brothel. Disarming in her
timidity and beauty. Fair
skin, fits the group but just barely. Something
sets her apart.
/THE BLONDE/ ------ Late 20s, early 30s; leader of the pack. Poise
and look of someone who
has climbed the three rung
ladder of the group.
/THE REDHEAD/ ---- Late 20s, early 30s; follows The Blonde's lead with
veracity. Shorter than
The Blonde and a little bit
less attractive.
/THE BRUNETTE/ --- Late 20s to early 30s; a follower, but the wise one
in the group. Curvy, just
this side of pudgy. Mouth
breather.
/MURRAY/ ------------ 50s or 60s; Vera's crooked accountant. Portly,
but not rotund; sleazy, but
not without a certain charm.
His personality is best represented by the
taxidermied cougar in his
'office'.
/ZORBA / --------------- 40s; gay; runs a nail salon, but reads palms
on the side to satisfy his quasi-
mystical nature. Comic but
not caricature.

Medium-sized golden color dog needed for an online demonstration video shoot showcasing a major brand name vacuum cleaner line. The dog must be comfortable around children/toddlers and able to follow the commands sit, stay, and come.
The production will take place in Woodinville Washington for a half day either on Wednesday, May 11th or Thursday, May 12th so please let us know your ideal times between 9am – 5PM.
Pay is $25/hr as an independent contractor. The owner will need to sign a W9 and model release for the dog and be on set for the shoot.

CASTING CALL SATURDAY MAY 28 (Kent WA)
This casting call is for a commercial that we are filming in June (date TBA). The commercial will feature 25 models, who we will be choosing at the casting, where the models will show off our new spring line of leggings along with UGG boots. Just a note, however, UGG boots has allowed our company to use their boots in this commercial, but UGG boots isn't the one hiring at this casting. We are. And we are Don Riche - a clothing designer right here in the Seattle area. We've had some mix up with that and want to make sure everyone gets it right.
