Comedy Musical for Microsoft

Audition/Interview Dates:
Wednesday the 16th (possibly the 17th)

Project Description:
This is a 3-minute, original, comedy musical number featuring a pianist and a three-person featured cast. This will be performed four times over two days, and requires both Broadway-quality singing, comedic timing, and acting skills. This will be videotaped for showing again internally. NOTE: In addition to the 3-minute musical, you will also be used in a separate comedy sketch (speaking role). So you must be versatile.

NOTE: This is non-union job, but it's in a hotel, and it's a 3-minute musical comedy performance for an internal Microsoft conference.

This job pays $500/day for rehearsals (2 days), and $600/day for performance days (2 days). Plus agency fees, if necessary. There may also be a tech rehearsal added. Must have the days of rehearsal and performance available.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
MOM: 38-45, any race, female, must be funny and a Broadway-quality singer.

SON: 18 - 24, male, any race, must be over 18, must be funny, must be a Broadway-quality singer.

Be prepared to sing a Broadway song as an audition without accompaniment.

Auditions added Feb. 21 for Playwrights Fest at BLT

There are 30 roles ranging in age from 17 through the 50s, including three that are specifically African-American and two that are specifically Latino, plus some ethnic-neutral roles. Open to all ethnicities. Details on shows and characters are listed below.

The festival runs April 8-May 1, 2011 at Burien Little Theatre in Burien. Performances of main-stage plays are Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Staged readings are Saturday afternoons.

The second round of auditions is Monday, Feb. 21 from 7 to 10 p.m. with callbacks Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. Please make audition appointment: audition@burienlittletheatre.org or call Burien Little Theatre at 206-242-5180. Come prepared to perform a short comedic monologue and a short dramatic monologue. Please also bring resume and headshot. Stipend of $35 provided for main-stage plays.

Performances are Friday 4/15, Saturday 4/16, Thursday 4/21, Friday 4/22, Saturday 4/23, Monday 4/25, Thursday 4/28, Friday 4/29, Saturday 4/30, Sunday 5/1 @2:00.

Versatile, diverse, creative and collaborative artists are needed for this new play where Greek comedy meets reality television. This is largely an ensemble cast; most actors will play many varied parts.
Adult actors only please due to script content. It ain’t for kids.

Auditions will be 10-minute slots between 6pm-10pm. Bring a resume, headshot and prepared comedic monologue. Callbacks will be held on Sunday February 20th 11-5. If you are only able to attend on Sunday, or not able to attend either time but are interested in the project, contact Alexis.

At this time, Ghost Light Theatricals is not able to pay their devoted, hardworking, amazing artists with anything but gratitude, loyalty, and alcohol.
