CASTING CALL - IFP Finalist Short - Pretty Face and Green My Eyes

Seattle independent production house Donkey Park Productions is
currently casting for an upcoming short film entitled “Pretty Face and
Green My Eyes”; an IFP finalist script that is set to be shot in mid
to late April of 2011 in the greater Seattle area. Auditions will be
held on Saturday, February 19th from 10am-2pm. Location will be given
out upon selection.

Synopsis:

Pretty Face and Green My Eyes tells the story of Jim, a novelist.
After struggling for years, Jim has finally broken through with his
latest Novel, being nominated for a Pulitzer. While he doesn't
normally do book readings, he agrees to do one at a small bookstore
owned by an old friend, Maggie. Jim's novel tells the story of his
teenage years, growing up in the early nineties during the Seattle
music explosion. The chapter he reads at the bookstore, with Maggie
listening on, is about the night Jim and Maggie met, as teenagers at a
local rock show. We follow them through their night as they explore
the city, and discover an intense attraction to one another that only
happens once; with a first love. Pretty Face and Green My Eyes shines
the light on the longing for youth, the ways we hold on, and the
wonder that comes when rediscovering feelings that we thought were
gone forever.

Cast:

Jim – Male, mid 30's. Scruffy, handsome, slightly introverted writer.

Maggie – Female, mid 30's. Authentic, creative, attractive. Jim's
young love and
bookstore owner.

Charlotte – Female, 30's. Audacious, hard nosed, hilarious. Jim's
manager.

Young Jim – Male, late teens. Young version of Jim.

Young Maggie – Female, late teens. Young version of Maggie.

Chris – Male, late teens. Cautious, out of his element “alternative”
teen.

Trumpet Man – Male, african american, 60's-70's. Jim's possibly
imaginary muse.

THE MAGICIAN'S ASSISTANT

Call for dancers, actors, and puppeteers to audition for the upcoming puppet show: The Magician’s Assistant. The show is largely music-driven-- a puppet dance piece with dramatic elements—so those with movement and music experience are encouraged to apply. Puppets are large marionette and Bunraku rod style. The story tells the relationship of a Magician and his Assistant, geared toward adults. Final show will run approximately 12 minutes and be shown at the Freehold Theater Studio Series on March 11 and 12th at 7:30 and 9:30pm.

Auditions will be held SUNDAY February 6, 11-2pm.

Rehearsals will run through February,
TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY nights 6-9pm
SATURDAYS 2-5pm

Times will be adjusted down as things move along. Final rehearsals TBD early March before show.
